Breakfast on a Stick

I stumbled upon this lovely item at my local grocery store last week. In case you can’t see for yourself, it is a sausage link wrapped in a chocalate chip pancake. And to meet the needs of young professionals trying to beat the morning rush, the wonderful folks at Jimmy Dean have placed this delightful treat on a stick. This is a perfect example of what happens when you leave a 13 year old in charge of new product development. Don’t get me wrong, pancakes and sausage are two of my favorite things for breakfast, but chocalate chip… on a stick? I’m guessing that these won’t be available much longer since they were being sold at a hefty discount and there was still a stack of them sitting there. Hey, Jimmy Dean… stick to making corn-dogs.

I was wondering, did you buy this product or did you take the pic at the store?

Sorry, you don’t know me but I stumbled upon your blog as I was googling for a picture of these very delicious breakfast items. When I was young we had flapsticks at camp (your breakfast on a stick minus the chocolate chips) and they were always delicious. We had them at my college this morning and I wanted to let the world (or at least the small world that reads my blog) that they are still around. All I want to say is that they are very tasty and if you ever come across some without chocolate chips, you should try them.

what could be better than sausage and pancakes on a stick? they go great off a stick. and now, they are even more fun to eat! I wonder if they come with a little thing of syrup? I will give you that the chocolate chips are weird, and will have to taste before I could judge. But am sold on the other two flavors. Just don’t know where the heck I can find them in Boston!
